Liga Privada T52 by Drew Estate earned third place in the 2026 Cigar of the Year competition, finishing with a 6–1 record. It also received the 2026 Master Ashologist’s Choice, a separate honor recognizing the complete smoking experience.

Seven Evaluations That Made an Impression
T52 won all three matchups in Group C before advancing through the Top 16 and Grand 8. After falling to Fuente Fuente OpusX Angel’s Share in the Final Smokeout, it defeated E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic in the third-place match.
Across the seven cigars evaluated during its tournament run, T52 delivered the complete experience that earned the Master Ashologist’s Choice.
In the deciding semifinal, however, OpusX Angel’s Share was slightly better through the middle of the cigar. That small difference helped decide which cigar advanced. The close result did not change the overall impression T52 made throughout the competition.
A cigar can lose a particular matchup and still become the personal selection that stands out across the full tournament.
What Stood Out
The opening matchup against AJ Fernandez Bellas Artes provides a clear example.
T52 earned 29.5 out of 30, including perfect marks for draw, balance and finish. Those three categories created the winning margin.
Its documented smoking progression moved through earth, cedar, cocoa and pepper, with espresso and dark chocolate adding depth. The evaluation emphasized how its draw supported dense smoke and how its balance kept strength and sweetness working together.
Intensity becomes more rewarding when a cigar maintains control. Flavor, airflow, balance and finish all contribute to the complete experience.
What the Honor Means
Padrón 60th Anniversary Perfecto remains the official 2026 Cigar of the Year champion. T52’s Master Ashologist’s Choice does not alter that result or its third-place finish.
The honor offers an additional recommendation, recognizing the impression T52 made across its seven evaluations and the qualities that made it a personal standout.
