Both cigars were made at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Esteli, Nicaragua, and both used 6-inch formats. T52 paired a 52-ring Toro with Connecticut River Valley Stalk-Cut and Stalk-Cured Habano. Herrera used a broader 54-ring Toro Especial with Ecuadorian Habano, Honduran binder and Nicaraguan filler.
The shared factory made the scorecard especially revealing. Burn finished level at 4.5, confirming dependable combustion from both cigars. Liga scored a perfect 5.0 in every other category, creating five half-point advantages and a 2.5-point victory.

T52 opened with dense earth, cedar, cocoa and pepper. Black pepper, dark earth and espresso arrived through thick, oily smoke. Dark chocolate, leather, charred oak and controlled sweetness deepened the middle before espresso, pepper and mineral-rich earth formed an exceptionally long, forceful finish.
Herrera began with cedar, grass, pepper and citrus peel. White pepper and fresh cedar led into toasted bread and light cream. Roasted nuts, earth and mild coffee added weight while citrus stayed present, then stronger pepper, oak and espresso produced a crisp, drier close.
The profiles showed two sides of the same factory. Herrera emphasized brightness, cream, baking-spice energy and lively transitions. T52 leaned into savory density, dark roast, leather and mineral earth. One sought medium-bodied refinement; the other delivered full-bodied concentration without losing control.

Burn produced the only tie, 4.5 to 4.5. Herrera's dependable combustion matched Liga's one non-perfect category and prevented a clean sweep, but it did not create a scoring opportunity anywhere else.

Liga Privada T52 defeated Herrera Esteli Habano and improved to 2-0 in Group C. The victory placed T52 one match from a perfect group stage, which it completed by defeating Diesel Vintage Series in M15.
Herrera fell to 0-1 and later lost to AJ Fernandez Bellas Artes before defeating Diesel in M18. Its 1-2 record secured third place in Full-Bodied Titans, but did not advance to the Top 16.
T52 continued to a 6-1 overall record and third place in the 2026 competition. M14 demonstrated why: even against another carefully built Drew Estate cigar, Liga separated itself through near-complete control of mechanics, flavor development and finish.

Herrera Esteli Habano earned its Premium classification with six uniform 4.5 scores. Its smooth draw, reliable burn and bright progression from cedar and citrus into nuts, coffee, oak and espresso made it a polished tournament selection with no weak category.
Liga Privada T52 won by turning excellence into exception. It matched Herrera's burn, then improved on construction, draw, complexity, balance and finish. The scorecard rewarded concentration, smoke delivery and a dark profile that stayed composed from the first pepper strike to the final mineral earth.
M14 proved that shared origin does not mean shared performance. The same Esteli factory produced two distinct premium cigars; T52's five perfect-category advantages made it the more complete smoke and moved the eventual podium finisher to 2-0.
